Great jacket
Nice well thought out jacket.
Happy with the fit and colour. Rab always makes such wonderful outdoor clothes.
Built with recycled Pertex® Shield Revolve, this 3-layer waterproof jacket is durable, versatile and signals the next generation of eco-friendly outdoor gear.
The Arc Eco is our first jacket to utilise 3-layer Pertex® Shield Revolve. This waterproof and breathable fabric is constructed from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. This means the jacket’s face fabric, membrane and backer are made up of a single polymer which makes it much easier to recycle at the end of its life. This revolutionary construction reduces the impact of production and improves the chances of closing the loop on polyester’s life cycle.
The Arc Eco has a fluorocarbon-free DWR finish to further boost waterproof performance. It features an adjustable mountain hood with a laminated peak and a fleece lined chin guard for comfort. It has a drawcord hem, anti-snag hook-and-loop adjustable cuffs and YKK® AquaGuard® zips throughout. Two easy access, A-line chest pockets will easily hold gloves or a map, and for added packability the jacket stuffs down into its own pocket.
Ideal for all outdoor activities and mountain adventures, this hard-wearing waterproof jacket is a sustainable choice.
Made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester, Pertex® Shield Revolve is made from a polyester face, polyester membrane, and polyester backer. This monopolymer, or single type of material, not only has a reduced impact during production but it also paves the way to be recycled again at the end of its life. The fabric is super soft to the touch, quiet when in use, lightweight and very comfortable to wear. It has a 20m HH and a 15,000 MVTR with a fluorocarbon-free DWR treatment.

Nice well thought out jacket.

Its the right balance of durable and light, providing a bit more warmth. The only issue is I dont like the colour. I wanted black but RAB dont make black, just this Beluga which in reality is more like navy blue than grey. Im 175cm, 63kg, 60+ and the Medium is roomy enough for layers. I like how the sleeves are slightly long on me as I use this jacket for horse riding and it helps keep my hands warm and dry. Often I find sleeves are too short.
Great jacket, comfortable and wind proof with just tshirt underneath and water just ran off it like ‘water off a ducks back’. Arm vents added extra cooling when tramping.
Beautful! Well-designed: deep pockets, peaked hood, underarm vents, & closure toggles on the sides. Great jacket for the New Zealand Winter!
An important part of buying outdoor gear is good after sales care from the retailer. You want to know if something goes wrong or wears out that there is help and the possibility of it being repaired.
In May the seam seal on a jacket I own started to come away. I returned it to the outdoor retailer I got it from (purchased from them in 2017) and within a week it was repaired and returned to me. This outstanding service prompted me to visit Dwights in mid-June about my $400 RAB Arc Jacket which I got off them in September 2021. The seam seal had started to come away and was leaking albeit after 18 months. Expecting outstanding service from Dwights what happened next was such a palaver and unhelpful, that I hope no one else gets to experience.
It was clear early on that Dwights didn't see this as a warranty issue, however I was very clear I would like my jacket professionally repaired if at all possible. A few days later Dwights told me to come and collect the jacket and use tent seam sealer on it. They showed me how to use it, telling me to paint it on the inside and outside of the jacket, even though the seam seal strip was coming away from the jacket.
This didn't sound right so I rang the distributor of RAB, Outfitters, to confirm this. They wouldn't give me a clear answer, but suggested I send it down to their repairer in Christchurch, for them to have a look at the jacket.
