The Osprey Kestrel 48 is a men's hiking pack for weekend tramps and demanding days on the trail. Durable nylon fabric handles regular use, while its LightWire™ frame and adjustable AirScape™ backpanel support a steady, close-fitting carry. A side zip makes it easier to reach gear packed deep inside.

Built for the trail

  • Adjustable fit: two harness sizes with torso adjustment to help position the load correctly.
  • Supportive carry: the peripheral frame transfers weight to the hipbelt; mesh-covered foam helps ventilation.
  • Easy access: top entry, side access and a zipped sleeping bag compartment with a floating divider.
  • Organised storage: hipbelt and lid pockets, a vertical side pocket, stretch bottle pockets and a front stash pocket.
  • Hydration ready: an internal reservoir sleeve with Hydraclip. Reservoir sold separately.
  • External carry: Stow-on-the-Go™ pole attachment, ice tool loops, compression straps and removable sleeping mat straps.
  • Raincover included: ready in a zipped pocket at the base.

Recommended load: 9–16 kg. Main fabric: 420D recycled nylon. Base: 500D high-tenacity nylon. Fabrics are bluesign® approved, with DWR treatments made without PFAS.

Choosing your size

Measure along your spine from the prominent bone at the base of your neck to the level of the top of your hipbones. Match this torso measurement to the table, then adjust the back length with the pack loaded. Capacity varies with harness size.
