The Hypersphere 9.5 represents the culmination of four decades of down expertise, seamlessly blended with the advanced technologies developed for the brand’s lightweight sleep mat range. This thick, down-insulated sleep mat delivers exceptional warmth and plush comfort, making it an ideal companion for high-altitude bivvy or expeditions into polar extremes. Engineered with robust materials and a comfort-focused design, it remains resilient, adaptable, and well-suited to harsh and remote conditions.

Features

With an outstanding R-value of 9.5 and a weight of just 840g, it offers remarkable insulation without the bulk.
The oversized outer chambers are designed to keep the sleeper centred throughout the night.
The 650FP duck down traps and stabilises heat effectively, forming a thermal barrier against the freezing ground.
Its lightweight build cleverly combines air and insulation, ensuring an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio and compact packability.
Boasting a 10cm thickness, the mat offers outstanding cushioning and reliable support.
The hybrid rectangular shape caters to a variety of comfortable sleeping positions.
Tough 75D recycled fabric ensures the mat stands up to expedition-level wear and tear.
A pump sack is included for quick and hygienic inflation in any conditions.
It comes with a roll-away stuff sack and a repair kit for added convenience on the move.
A two-way valve system allows for easy inflation and deflation, helping users settle in swiftly when temperatures begin to drop.

Can't beat down for warmth.

This was an upgrade from the previous Rab Ionosphere 5.5, which wasn't warm enough. This has an interesting construction with internal foam blocks head and tail, presumably to keep the down in place. That makes it slightly bulkier. No big deal. Tested just once so far (I've only had it a week) on a 5-degree night in the tent, verdict: snug as a bug in a rug. Can't beat down for warmth.

A hotel mattress that fits in your pack

Super comfy and crazy worm mat even directly on the snow. It is not a ultralight mat not even a light mat but if good sleep is your goal it’s a luxury item that will earn its spot in your pack.
