Sunday Afternoons Ultra-Adventure Hat

at first I was put off by the fold line in the centre front brim, but it turns out to be great in the wind as the sides tend to get blown in a bit which actually forms a peak in the centre front, keeping the sun protection but also clear vision. packs up small and easily without bending anything out of place. Soft strap attachment that doesn't hurt my ears like other hat strap attachments do.

This is my second purchase of this hat. Hubby kept stealing mine. Brilliant sun coverage, quality product and well made. We have XL fat heads and I have a mass of hair too - hat works for us

I first purchased this hat after reading a review in the New York Times. I have used it for hiking and outdoor walking ever since. I have reordered a replacement just in case as it is hard to find a place to purchase it in Australia.

It folds flat and can be packed without bending the brim or taking up a lot of room. The brim is wide and provides excellent protection from sun and rain. In wind, the chin strap and adjustment mechanism at the back keep it from blowing off. The flap at the back protects the neck. It does, however, flap loudly and annoyingly when it is windy, but it is easy to tuck the flap underneath the hat which solves the problem.

The only problem is that the hat is not very stylish and looks a bit silly. I call it my “dork hat”. For me, its practicality outweighs any concerns about stylishness.
