La Sportiva Sizing: A Fit-Test Guide
There is no single La Sportiva fit
Trail, hiking, approach and climbing models use different shapes and purposes. “Runs narrow” is too broad to be a sizing rule, especially where standard, wide, women-labelled and different-generation versions exist.
Measure both feet
Use the current manufacturer size chart to convert units, then treat the result as a starting size. Fit later in the day if feet swell, and use the socks, insoles or orthotics planned for the activity.
Test the exact model
Check heel hold, toe room, forefoot width, instep volume, arch placement and flex. Run or walk uphill and downhill. Approach and climbing footwear may use different fit priorities from long-distance trail shoes.
Do not transfer sizes blindly
A successful size in one model or generation does not guarantee the same fit in another. Refit after a design update and confirm the exact SKU on the current product page. Browse current La Sportiva footwear only after the activity and fit requirements are clear.
